Personal brand story

I've loved clothing for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I'd sneak into my mother's closet and get lost in the fabrics. Silk blouses, shoulder pads, garments that felt like secret treasures.

In 2015, I started modeling, and that quickly led to beauty pageants, where everything looked perfect on the outside... but behind the scenes, something changed inside me. During my preparation for Miss World Netherlands, I chose a mission that felt somewhat contradictory to the pageant, but also very personal: raising awareness about sustainability in fashion.

That mission wasn't random. During my master's degree in Industrial Design, I spent a semester in Australia researching fast fashion. Seeing the waste, environmental impact, and emotional emptiness of trend culture was a wake-up call. Something inside me said: this has to change, and I'm going to do something about it.

I thought: what if I could combine my love of clothing with my desire for more meaning and sustainability? So I started searching for high-quality vintage clothing with character, and that's how Flamingo Vintage was born.

This is my work, my passion and my contribution to a more beautiful, conscious (fashion) world.
