The face behind... And with that, the buyer, professional cleaner, website manager, content creator, and even the model.

A varied but fantastic job that I've been able to do largely on my own. I do all of this from an apartment with a beautiful view of Arnhem's city center, where I live with my fiancé Thijs and, of course, my colleague Luca. In my free time, I enjoy going out with Thijs to discover new places and enjoy delicious food, and I also enjoy pole dancing.

As Flamingo Vintage's Vintage Quality Control Officer, Luca has several important responsibilities. He inspects all incoming clothing with his nose and keeps me company while I check items, take photos, and print shipping labels. He also loves to test how the garments fit—which surely speaks volumes about the fine, high-quality fabrics used in vintage clothing!

By the way, he takes his job very seriously, as you would expect from a cat.

my story

From model to Miss to entrepreneur with a mission

It was always there, really. As a little girl, I became fascinated by clothes and makeup and regularly snuck into my mother's wardrobe. Amidst the blouses with shoulder pads, I wondered: what kind of magical clothing is this? It felt like I'd discovered a secret treasure chest.

As a teenager, I experimented with outfits, but feminine styles always remained my favorite. In 2015, I modeled for the first time, which quickly led to competing in beauty pageants. In 2020, I reached the finals of Miss World Netherlands . My Beauty with a Purpose mission there was to raise awareness of sustainability in the fashion industry. The seed for this was planted during my master's degree in Industrial Design , where I spent a semester in Australia researching the impact of fast fashion. It became a wake-up call: this has to change, and I'm going to do my part to make it happen.

After graduating, I started working for a company, but deep down, I kept wondering: what truly makes me happy? The answer turned out to be simple: freedom to build something of my own, unleash my creativity, and contribute to a more sustainable clothing industry.

Step by step, the idea for a vintage clothing webshop grew. I developed my plans, went hunting for unique vintage gems, and lovingly built this webshop. A place where style, sustainability, and a touch of nostalgia converge, and where you can discover the most beautiful secondhand finds.
